Yesterday and today we introduced the youth to our passion: bringing ships and buildings to life.
The beating heart of our organization is the place where everything begins and comes together. Our support departments, such as IT, HR, Finance, and Marketing, work closely together to ensure that Royal Van der Leun operates optimally, both domestically and internationally.
You can’t miss them—the reception is the first face you see when you visit Royal Van der Leun. Our always enthusiastic receptionist(s) are the face of our organization and ensure that every guest feels welcome. Whether it’s welcoming visitors, answering phone calls, or handling general inquiries, our reception plays a crucial role in the daily operations. They are not only the first point of contact for external visitors but also an important link for internal communication. The reception ensures efficient referrals and supports various administrative tasks that contribute to a smooth working day for everyone.
At Royal Van der Leun, we believe that our employees are the heart of our success. Our HR department is the center of Royal Van der Leun when it comes to the well-being of our employees and strengthening our company culture. The HR department is responsible for all aspects of HR. We focus on attracting, developing, and retaining talent so our organization can continue to grow and innovate. At HR, we build an environment where employees feel motivated, valued, and connected, enabling them to do their work with energy and satisfaction. This includes promoting a healthy work-life balance, supporting the personal and professional growth of employees, and encouraging vitality through various initiatives.
Through strategic recruitment campaigns, we, together with our colleagues from the Marketing & Communication department, ensure that we attract the right people with the right skills and values. Furthermore, HR actively works on strengthening our Employer Brand, ensuring that Royal Van der Leun is known as an attractive employer that cares about its employees' needs and offers an appealing workplace.
In short, the HR department at Royal Van der Leun is a dynamic field that is continuously developing. HR plays a crucial role in creating a positive work culture, attracting talent, and ensuring the vitality and job satisfaction of our employees.
Our IT department is, of course, our savior when it comes to devices, software, and solving technical problems with your laptop or other equipment. Whether you're having an issue with your network connection, software updates, or installing new tools, our IT specialists are always there to help. Currently, our IT department consists of two experienced staff members, with a clear distinction between IT policy and the helpdesk. Daily, they work on innovations and automations to improve the efficiency of our systems and processes. Additionally, they implement new technologies that help move our company forward. Our helpdesk is always available for technical support and offers quick, solution-oriented help with problems.
Our IT department plays a crucial role in the secure and efficient functioning of our organization and is therefore indispensable to the daily work.
Our marketing & communication department is the creative brain of the organization, responsible for all communications, both internally and externally. Within Royal Van der Leun, the department is engaged in a wide range of activities that contribute to our visibility, brand identity, and communication. This includes managing our social media channels, organizing trade fairs and events, developing communication campaigns, and strengthening our Employer Branding.
Additionally, the marketing communication department plays a key role in setting up strategic marketing plans, analyzing market trends, and supporting sales activities. We work closely with other departments like HR and sales. Our strategy focuses on building a strong brand, both for our customers and for our employees, which aligns with the company’s mission and vision.
The Financial department is the backbone of the organization when it comes to financial administration and management. They are responsible for a wide range of tasks that are crucial to the financial health of Royal Van der Leun. This includes managing payroll, ensuring that all employees are paid on time and correctly, as well as managing accounts payable and receivable, the latter to maintain a healthy cash flow. They work closely with other departments to maintain a good financial overview and contribute to planning and budget management.
Furthermore, the Finance department ensures the timely and reliable preparation of financial reports that provide insight into the organization's performance. Not only current performance, but also predictive insight into future performance—where possible—which allows the organization to anticipate future (financial) changes.
