Service & Commissioning Engineer - Duitsland

What will you do as a Service & Commissioning Engineer?

As a Service & Commissioning Engineer, you’ll independently carry out commissioning, service, and maintenance work on electrical installations onboard ships.

You’ll solve malfunctions in sensors, cabling, system cabinets, and other installation components by replacing parts, adjusting settings, repairing components, etc.

You actively contribute ideas when problems arise, and afterwards, you’ll prepare service reports.

You’ll also commission newly delivered systems such as battery systems, hybrid installations (EMS), hoisting, and propulsion systems.

You’ll work on Power Management (PMS and drives) and Automation (AMS) systems, testing cables, sensors, and systems, locating the source of faults—and, of course, fixing them.

Since ships can be anywhere in the world when an issue occurs, you must be ready to jump on a plane at any moment to get the client back on course. Most of the work will take place in the Hamburg area.

What you bring
  • A completed vocational education in Electrical Engineering

  • Several years of experience in a similar role at a medior or senior level in the maritime sector

  • Knowledge of dredging technology and processes, basic automation technology, and basic high-voltage engineering

  • Experience with Power Management (PMS) / Automation (AMS)

  • Experience with battery/hybrid systems

  • Experience with drives

  • SCC certificate, or willingness to obtain it

  • Familiarity with standards, safety rules, quality and inspection requirements

  • Proficiency in German and English, both spoken and written

You are also
  • Independent and proactive

  • Customer-oriented and solution-focused

  • Someone who performs well under pressure

  • Flexible and willing to travel frequently (domestic and international)

  • In possession of a valid driver’s license

What we offer

You’ll work at a growing and dynamic family-owned business where no day is the same. The work atmosphere is good and informal. We value our people, and that’s reflected in how we interact.

You’ll receive a salary that matches your age, education, and experience—this will be discussed early on. You’ll get 30 vacation days based on a full-time contract, a company car, a laptop, and a mobile phone.

If you take a course or training, we’ll cover the costs from our training budget.
