Lead Engineer

What is the highlight of your work as Lead Engineer?

You are part of a large project team and in that role you lead a team of Engineers in the Netherlands and abroad, responsible for Engineering. As Lead Engineer you are responsible for various projects related to the design of maritime electrical installations in accordance with the specifications and requirements provided by the client. You operate both as a hands-on engineer and as a lead engineer. Because you are the key link between the Project Manager and execution, your tasks are diverse.

Together as a team, you provide overall technical support, set up the drawing package and deliver it according to schedule, prepare material specifications and compile the required project documentation.

You support the Project Manager and report to them. You also co-manage the project team and allocate work to colleagues in the Netherlands and abroad.

This is what you bring:

• A completed Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrable work experience as Lead Engineer;

• Preferably at least 5 years of work experience as Lead Engineer in the maritime sector;

• Experience in designing electrical ship installations;

• Experience with industry-related software such as AutoCAD and SEE Electrical (or E-Plan), or you are willing to learn this;

• Knowledge of standards and regulations such as Bureau Veritas, Lloyds and CCS;

Furthermore, you are

• Available for at least 32 hours per week;

• Commercially minded and customer-oriented;

• Strong in communication;

• Analytical, accurate and decisive;

• Strong in problem-solving and show plenty of initiative;

• Depending on your experience, you will receive an attractive salary between € 4,500 and € 5,400 gross per month based on full-time employment. This will be discussed with you at an early stage;

• We work under the Collective Labour Agreement for the Metal and Engineering Sector (CAO Metaal en Techniek);

• 25 vacation days based on full-time employment;

• 13 ADV days (reduction of working hours) based on full-time employment;

• You will be enrolled in the Pension Fund for the Metal and Engineering Sector;

• Travel allowance of € 0.23 per km;

• A company laptop and mobile phone;

• Flexible working hours and the possibility to work hybrid (with a corresponding home working allowance of € 2.35 per day) so you can combine work and private life effectively;
