Jr. Marine Electrical Service & Commissioning Technician - Canada

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Junior Marine Electrical Service & Commissioning Technician to join our growing Canadian team. This is a great opportunity for someone who may not have completed school or formal training but has an interest in electrical work, troubleshooting, and technology. We will teach you on the job, step by step, how to install, test, and service marine electrical systems. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians who will guide and mentor you. If you like working with your hands, solving problems, and being around ships and marine technology, this is the role for you.

What You Will Do

• Assist (Senior) Technicians with the installation and servicing of electrical systems on board ships;
• Learn how to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment;
• Get introduced to systems like converters, PLC controls, and power distribution;
• Help with preparing tools, parts, and materials for jobs;
• Support in documenting work and learning how to read electrical diagrams;
• Travel with the team to different shipyards and ports across BC;

What We Are Looking For

• No formal diploma or trade ticket is required — just interest, motivation, and a willingness to learn. If you’ve been in the program for the applicable Trade Certification that is considered a plus.
• Hands-on skills or basic experience with tools, electrical work, or mechanical work is a plus.
• Curiosity about how things work and a positive, problem-solving attitude.
• Reliability, safety awareness, and a good team spirit.
• Willingness to travel in BC and work onboard ships.
• A valid driver’s license is an asset. What We Offer
