What is the highlight of your work as Commissioning Engineer Yachting?

As a Commissioning Engineer, you work independently on the commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical installations on board yachts in the Amsterdam/Aalsmeer region. You resolve malfunctions in, among others, electrical installations (400 V, 230 V, 24 V systems) including the associated control systems.

You test and commission new installations such as battery, hybrid and propulsion systems, power management and automation systems. You prepare service reports and are solution-oriented.

It may happen that a yacht somewhere in the world experiences a malfunction. You therefore have no problem occasionally getting on a plane to solve the issue and help the client get back on course as quickly as possible.

This is what you bring:
  • A completed vocational (MBO) education in Electrical Engineering;

  • At least 2 years of demonstrable work experience as Commissioning Engineer within yacht building;

  • Knowledge of general electrical installations (400 V, 230 V, 24 V) including the associated control systems;

  • Experience with testing and commissioning new installations such as battery, hybrid and propulsion systems, power management and automation systems;

  • Knowledge of standards, safety regulations, quality and inspection requirements;

  • VCA-VOL and NEN 3240 certification, or willingness to obtain these;

  • Knowledge of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written;

  • Preferably residing in the Amsterdam/Aalsmeer area;

  • 13 ADV days (reduction of working hours) based on full-time employment;
  • You will be enrolled in the Pension Fund for the Metal and Engineering Sector;
  • Travel allowance of € 0.23 per km;
